A new chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Idaho, the largest and most active organization of the blind in this State, was started in Bannock County Saturday, September 10.
Garren Aubrey was selected as chairman until the next meeting which will be held October 15. Six individuals from the Pocatello area attended this meeting, and twice that many have expressed interest in becoming part of this organization. Approximately ten members from the Snake River Valley Chapter of the NFBI came to help start the new group, and three came from Boise.
State President Dana Ard presided at the first meeting and said she is excited about the opportunities this will provide to the Bannock County area. Blind people and their friends and families are invited to the October 15 meeting. Location will be announced.
