Hi My name is David Berry, and I was fortunate enough to be one of the participants in the first Silver Bells program. We engaged in a two and half day adventure in developing and enhancing our skills in braille, cane travel, activities of daily living and technology. We also engaged in social interaction with other individuals with blindness to find our common ground and develop a comradery with one another.
I met many people and had a phenomenal experience. My interaction with others in the program was more than i had anticipated. I have been fortunate enough to keep in contact with several of the participants and we are developing a mutual understanding of our adversities. I am looking forward to being contacted by those participants whom I have not been able to reach out to and share our common goals, interests, and abilities to interact in our communities as a non-sighted or low vision individual.
