April 2022 State President's Update
One of our popular federation songs is titled “It’s Convention Time.” It talks about all the fun we have at convention seeing each other and celebrating our wonderful organization. In Idaho, it’s convention time! Our state convention will be held April 21-23 at the new Holiday Inn hotel in Idaho Falls.
The address is 3005 S. Fork Blvd. Idaho Falls 83402, phone 208 227-9800.

President’s Update December 2017
I am amazed that soon 2017 will be a year in the past and 2018 will begin. I really do believe the adage, “the older you get, the faster time flies.” In this message, I will update everyone about important upcoming events, share some events that occurred during the past 3 months, and look back at some affiliate accomplishments, as well as areas that need addressed in 2018.
President's Update August-September, 2016
As your president, I have the responsibility of keeping current on national issues that need attention from our affiliate. We have several right now that need immediate action. We need to get comments to the Department of Justice regarding their supplemental advanced notice of proposed Rulemaking on web accessibility. Comments must be submitted by October 7. The web address is www.regulations.gov. You must include CRT docket 128 in the subject line and include your full name and address. Relate 1 positive or negative experience on web accessibility.
President's Update Juine and July 2016
2017 NFB Idaho Convention
Our 2017 state convention will be held March 24-25 at the Wyndham Garden Hotel, 6300 Vista Ave in Boise. Our 2015 convention was held in this location, which, at the time, was the Boise Hotel and Convention Center. All the remodeling has been completed and I believe this location will meet our needs. I have signed the contract. Jan Gawith was instrumental in contacting this location and I greatly appreciate her help. Room rates are $83 for singles, doubles, triples and quads. There is a 13% tax in addition.
President's Update for May 2016
May began with the Idaho Gives campaign on May 5. NFBI received donations of nearly $200.00, which is the most we have ever received from this campaign. Even though May 5 was emphasized as a day for Idahoans to support their favorite charities, donations can be made throughout the year. We also received a small check from Amazon Smiles. Even though the donations from these two organizations are relatively small, they demonstrate that there are many untapped sources for donations and all donations count.
President’s Update, April 2016
The highlight in April was our state convention, which was held at the Red Lion hotel in Lewiston. With 85 people registered for the banquet, this was the largest convention in recent history. There were many factors that lead to the success of the convention. The Palouse Empire Chapter, our newest Idaho chapter, under the leadership of President Joe Thompson, stepped forward and really carried the ball.
State President’s Update for January, 2016
The topics for January are legislation and convention planning.
State President’s Message for December 2015
I hope everyone had a healthy and happy holiday season, with time to relax between all the activities of the season.
