White Cane Safety Day

The National Federation of the Blind of Idaho (NFBI) announces our White Cane Safety day celebration.  Please come join the blind and Lieutenant Governor Brad Little on October 17 at 3pm on the east side of the Capital building.  We will present Mr. Little a white cane and he will demonstrate how well it works to find obstacles and landmarks. The Lieutenant Governor will read a proclamation signed by the Governor recognizing white cane safety day.  NFBI President Dana Ard will receive the proclamation and coach the Lieutenant Governor in braille.

Susan Bradley, President of the Treasure Valley Chapter of NFBI will announce our speaker’s bureau which offers informational programs on blindness to schools and other community organizations.  We expect 50 people from the Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired and the NFBI invites you to come join us.
